Two posts...
Two days in a row...?
I'm not quite sure what has gotten into me, but maybe my blogging time will be therapeutic amongst the hustle and bustle of the day.
And that my friends, all three of you that read this, is exactly what I'm blogging about!
After replying to multiple Facebook messages, calling person after person back, and answering tons of e-mails, I realized that this whole cake baking and decorating deal is getting quite busy!
I have been fortunate enough to begin filling up my planner with cake orders from as early as tomorrow to as late as next August, and it is wonderful. And I am also very happy to announce that because it is September, the school year is officially in full swing, and I am going to school this semester. =D (<-- Do you see how excited I am?)
For the past three years, I have been struggling between here and there, debating if it's worth a loan or not, and trying to "save" money.
Well, three years later, after totaling my first car, maxing out my credit cards, doing a ton of repairs on my second, canceling my credit cards, taking an amazing trip to Florida, taking cake decorating classes in Chicago, and having tons of fun, I have no money to my name and no credit to get a loan, but I missed school more than anything in the world.
To tell you the truth, I feel like I'm three years behind.
One of my old best friends from high school will be graduating from a four year college this Winter, and I'm trying to manage an Associate's by the Spring.
So yeah, it gets me down, but I'm learning to deal, and growing a lot, and I'm loving every moment of the life I lead.
Today was a great day, probably my busiest day of the week.
I got up at 6am and went to work.
---(Today was Gluten Free bread day... Have you ever made Gluten Free bread?)
Work was followed by classes at 10am.
---(Political Science, Spanish, Shakespeare, all that jazz...)
Home by 3pm, time to work on tomorrow's cake order and prep Saturday's.
---(Cupcakes and a cake, pictures coming soon!)
More class at 6pm.
---(Dance! It's wonderful.)
Home by 8:30pm.
---(Finish tomorrow's cake order, finish prep for Saturday's order.)
So where do you find a young baker at the end of the day?
Where else?
Here I sit, curled up in a corner of the kitchen.
I feel like a kid hiding from the dishes looming over me; they are in the sink, calling my name.
And at the end of that day, what else would I enjoy other than a delicious chocolate cupcake with espresso chocolate buttercream, the Choco-Latte, my favorite.
BUT this blog is not all about me!
It's about you, the reader as well!
So all of you, yes, all three of you, please, comment and tell me about YOUR busiest day of the week, and how you cope at the end of it! Or what cupcakes you crave?
Thank you for taking time to step out of my kitchen and into my thoughts and schedule!
And please, humor me by commenting.
I am sincerely curious.
And if you want to vent, VENT!
If you want to brag about an awesome class, BRAG!
Just... share!
Cupcakes & Kisses,
Paula-Marie
Well, personally, Wednesdays are my busiest day of the week. It's pretty much school 9-5 with work 6-9. But, they're enjoyable days. Two of my best classes are those days (popular literature and video game scripting? Hello? =D )As for the cupcake question, Lime-coconut. For sure.
