Favorite Flavors

My favorite thing about cupcakes is their versatility when it comes to flavor.
(And don't even get me started on the fact that it's the absolute cutest little package for a sweet treat!)

But seriously, I'm convinced you can take just about any dessert, and turn it into a cupcake, and suddenly your favorite dessert has been transformed into this delectable little package that you just can't resist.

You're following this, right?

Take Key Lime Pie for example....
BAM! Coconut Key Lime Cupcakes with White Chocolate Lime Frosting.
(This guy is definitely Mr. Popular)

Or, your so delicious Pumpkin Pie.
WATCH OUT! Moist Pumpkin Cupcakes made with cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and freshly ground nutmeg, topped with a Cream Cheese frosting.
(Like seriously, you think you could resist that?)

Cheesecake
Lemon Meringue
Eclair
Mocha
Strawberry Shortcake
Pina Colada
S'mores
You name it;
And I'll bake it.

But let's be real, sometimes there's nothing like your favorite candy bar.
And I've been there done that: Snickers Cupcakes, Peppermint Patty, Reece's...
But today, I was craving a Rolo,
like hard-core.

Just biting into that smooth chocolate only to reach the chewy caramel filling.
Well, how does this sound?
Your favorite chocolate cupcake, filled with a HOMEMADE, one more time: HOMEMADE, and let's all say it together "HOMEMADE" caramel sauce.
(There is NOTHING like homemade caramel.)
All topped with a dark chocolate buttercream.
Umm... Yumm.

So let's get going.
We've got your favorite chocolate cake recipe going in a bowl.
And we're mixing it all up!
(Mix mix mix!)

So go ahead and get those going, and prep for the caramel.
All that sugar and water boiling away...
Yum yum yum!!
I mean seriously: water, sugar, and cream.
(Who knew caramel could be so simple.)

And now your cupcakes are all cooled and ready to be welled out.
So grab your paring knife, or favorite little tool, and cut little wells out of each cupcake.
And see all those scraps???
(Scraps in a bowl + Caramel drizzle = Awesome)

Now, fill them up!
And get ready to top them off with your favorite chocolate frosting!

Voila!
Delicious.
But watch out!
The caramel sets up pretty quickly; so you have to work fast or keep the caramel warm.
And if you put these babies in the fridge, be sure to let them thaw for about ten minutes before eating, that way the caramel softens a little.

But seriously, this cupcake is potentially one of my favorites, and it is most certainly a recipe I will be stashing away for further use.

So now it's your turn.
What's your favorite dessert, candy, drink, etc?
Drop me a comment! All... three... of you...
(You guys are there... Right???)
And let me know what you think!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Cupcakes & Kisses,
Paula-Marie
